There is a small but important difference between promoting your music and your music promoting you as an artist…
Why? Because if you say to a stranger, “Hey, do you want to hear my new song?” 99% of the time, he won’t be interested.
And it’s normal! What are you surprised by? This person doesn’t know you, people have lives, responsibilities, and little time, so you need more than a question to get someone interested in your music.
AND THAT THAT IS MISSING IS YOU, not your music.
Here the hero of the story is you. And your music is a byproduct of you.
It’s you who will keep people coming back: your story, your personality, your experiences, your style, and how you convey all these things in one amazing song…
Of course, make sure you have an incredible song, and that both the composition and performance, as well as the production and sound, are spectacular (if you need it, I can help you).
So, the next time you think about posting content saying “Here’s my new song…”, don’t stop there. Think about how you can tie into that and give people a reason to be interested in you.
Let me know if it helps you!
